THE STORY OF A PHOTOGRAPHER WHO REVOLUTIONIZED THE FASHION WORLD
A survey of the career of Louise Dahl-Wolfe, one of the most important American fashion photographers, whose images competed with those of photographers such as Edward Steichen, Horst P. Horst, George Hoyningen-Huene, Irving Penn and Martin Munkácsi.
The volume features more than 130 photos in black-and-white and color, offering a panorama of the changing social mores of the time and the new role of women through the lens of Louise Dahl-Wolfe.
In Her Own Style captures fashion from approximately 1930 to 1980, through the personal vision of Dahl-Wolfe, whose work influenced photographers like Richard Avedon, and with women as the protagonists.
The American photographer witnessed the social transformations experienced by women during an entire generation. Her photographs cover the practice of photography as well as its social and technical aspects.
The book, with 256 pages, includes three texts by the photographers herself, as well as essays by Oliva María Rubio, John P. Jacob and Celina Lunsford.
